This is the blog that I will be updating over the next 2 months as I make my way through Africa. For those of you that don't know, I am leaving on Saturday to make my way to Kenya to work at Tenwek Hospital. I plan on doing my OB/GYN rotation for my physician assistant program at this hospital. I will be traveling with Christina Lanham and Stefanie Brock (2 other PA students). We will be spending the first week in Kenya in the Samburu region with Professor Powdrill assisting in eye surgeries. He is then going to take us to Tenwek where we will spend the 3 weeks after that.
At the end of March, Stefanie and I will be headed to Swaziland to work at another group of hospitals. I hope to be studying HIV and infectious disease, but may end up in surgery. Who knows! I hope that all my friends and families can keep updated with my adventures with this blog. I dont know how reliable internet access or how much spare time I will have so hopefully this will be the most efficient way to let people know what I am up to!
